Transit Trade DG constitutes body to review pending T-1s

KARACHI: Transit Trade Director General Muhammad Javed Ghani has constituted a three-member committee to review the pending T-1s data and to formulate necessary action and legal changes.

The committee, headed by Transit Trade Director and comprising of Additional Directors of Directorates of Karachi, Quetta and Peshawar, will submit its report within fifteen days.

The body was constituted in a meeting chaired by Muhammad Javed Ghani and was attended by Quetta Director Pervez Esbahani, Karachi Director Wajid Ali, Peshawar Additional Director Amjad-ur-Rehman, Karachi Additional Director Mona Mahfooz, Deputy Director Fazal Dad Chaudry and Assistant Director Saher Yasir.

The director general emphasised on the need for enhanced coordination between entry and exit transit stations for re-examination of consignments. He advised the formation to enhance monitoring of transit cargo at exit and entry stations.

Ghani expressed satisfaction on the progress of liquidation of pendency of T-1 certificates relating to WeBOC. It was however observed that the historical pendency of T-1 certificates relating to One Customs was a matter of importance and needed to be addressed on priority.
