HANOI: The Express Delivery Customs Sub-Department of Hanoi has discovered dozens of gun barrels disguised as gifts illegally shipped via international delivery service. The packages containing several gun parts, including two 60 centimeter long metal barrels and a sight designed for 35 centimeter long rifles, were delivered from the U.S. and the UK to Vietnam, the Hanoi Customs Department said on Friday.
The discovery was made on Wednesday, when express delivery customs officers opened the packages for inspection after noticing suspicious signs. Previously, Hanoi customs officers also found 13 barrels concealed in a gift box parcel shipped via international delivery service. Competent agencies then suspended the parcels for further investigation.
