Collector Adjudication Raja Tahir Majeed hears four cases

FAISALABAD: The Collector Customs Adjudication Raja Tahir Majeed has heard four cases against suspected smugglers who were involved in smuggling of foreign origin cigarettes, polyester staple fiber, Indian polyester cloth, and non-duty paid Toyota Land Cruiser.

Sources told Customs Today that the Customs Intelligence and Investigation filed separate cases against the accused for smuggling non-duty paid Indian cloth and cigarettes while the Anti Smuggling Organization (ASO) Mainwali forwarded a Land Cruiser seizure case and Customs DTRE Faisalabad submitted a tax evasion case against M/s Zahidjee Textile.

Sources said  that M/s Zahidjee Textile was allegedly involved in duty tax evasion, while Muhammad Aslam was also found involved in smuggling of Indian polyester cloth which was brought into the country without payments of customs duty. Raja Tahir also heard a case filed by Muhammad Ali Hussain who brought different brand of cigarettes. The last case was heard against unknown person who was involved in smuggling foreign origin Toyota land Cruiser without paying  customs duty.
