FAISALABAD: The Collector Customs Adjudication Raja Tahir Majeed has issued a show cause notice to the owner of non-duty paid ceramic tiles worth Rs 4,349,172.
Sources told Customs Today that a team of Customs Intelligence and Investigation intercepted a Mazda truck loaded with ceramic tiles near Jhang Road district Faisalabad. The owner of the ceramic tiles, who was identified as Muhammad Iqbal Sethi, failed to produce any relevant documents regarding possession and transportation of ceramic tiles and managed to escape from the spot taking advantages of darkness.
The Customs Intelligence team seized the vehicle along with loaded tiles and forwarded the case to Customs Adjudication for further proceedings. Now Customs Adjudication authorities issued show cause notice to owner of the ceramic tiles and asked him to explain his position.
