Faisalabad ASO impounds Toyota Hilux Surf worth Rs 2m

FAISALABAD: The Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) has impounded a non-duty paid vehicle, Toyota Hilux Surf, worth Rs 2 million involving duty/taxes amounting to Rs 1.45 million.

As per details, Faisalabad Customs Collector Dr Zulfiqar Ali Chaudhary received information regarding a non-duty paid vehicle. Following the information, an ASO team under the supervision of Deputy Collector Muhammad Rizwan Khan conducted a raid.

During the raid, the officials impounded a Toyota Hilux Surf bearing Registration No LRJ-5743 Under Section 2(s), read with SRO 566 (1),/2005 Section 16, 18 of the Customs Act 1969 and served a notice on the accused.

After a considerable passage of time, no one appeared before the seizing agency to claim the ownership of seized vehicle.

The ASO team comprising Superintendent Saeed Akhtar Joiya, Inspector Safdar Ali, Khalid Noor Ashraf, Sepoy Muhammad Ashraf, Muhammad Naeem, Muhammad Javid, Muhammad Yasin and others participated in the raid. Besides, the case has been sent to Customs Adjudication for further legal action.
