PRA to bring 1,000 more restaurants under RIMS network

LAHORE: The Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) has decided to broaden its network in Lahore and has shortlisted 1,000 more restaurants to bring them in network in coming days.

Sources told Customs Today that the PRA has checked almost 1,000 restaurants in posh areas of the city which are providing expensive food to citizens and they are earning millions rupees but are not registered for sales tax.

It is decided that these restaurants will be included in the list of Revenue Invoice Monitoring System (RIMS) and they will be monitored through modern software.

Restaurant invoice monitoring system will be installed in all restaurants that are providing services in posh areas of Lahore like, Defence Housing Authority, Model Town, Johar Town, Faisal Town, Cantonment area, Raiwind Road, Multan Road and Valancia Town.

Meanwhile PRA has also started crackdown against restaurants that are failed to submit their taxes despite receiving notices. PRA has sealed many restaurants in during last one week.
