All facilities being provided to exporters at Sialkot Dry Port: Chairman Khawar Anwar Khawaja

SIALKOT: Sialkot Dry Port Trust (SDPT) Chairman Khawar Anwar Khawaja has said that better facilities and speedy clearance of consignments resulted in the record increase in exports from Sialkot

Talking to Customs Today in his office, he said that Customs Collectorates,  Sialkot Dry Port Trust (SDPT) and Sialkot International Airport Limited (SIAL) are jointly making hectic efforts to boost exports from here.

The SDPT chairman said that due to one window operation and establishment of single examination assessment office at the shade yard of Sialkot Dry Port Trust (SDPT), the customs authorities has earned great confidence of the Sialkot exporters, as they are expressing their complete satisfaction and confidence over  these great facilities provided by the Customs Collectorate.

He said Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and exporters are getting full benefits due to increase in exports. He revealed that the exporters also taking keen interest in enhancing their exports from Sialkot, and MCC successfully motivating them to start their exports from Sialkot Dry Port Trust (SDPT) and Sialkot International Airport, saying that the exporters injecting the fresh blood into the national economy by earning the foreign exchange, playing their pivotal role in strengthening the national economy and boosting the national exports.

He pledged to leave no stone unturned for promoting the exports and imports through Sialkot Dry Port as the Sialkot Dry Port Trust (SDPT) offering the special service.

He said that the exporters of Sialkot are the “roaming ambassadors of Pakistan”, who travel all around the world to fetch business with their personal efforts, the export earnings of Sialkot stand at $2 billion annually, which is eight percent of the total exports of Pakistan. He said that the process of export from Sialkot was disturbed some days ago when the Punjab government tried to imposed 0.9 percent Infrastructure Development Cess on transportation of cargo consignments etc. but the exporters, cargo agents and transporters refused this tax.
