Deputy Collector Asma Hameed issues show cause to vehicle smugglers

FAISALABAD: The Customs Adjudication Deputy Collector Asma Hameed issued a show cause notice to a suspect involved in smuggling of Toyota Vitz car involving customs duty and taxes  worth Rs341,850.

Sources told Customs Today that Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO), Mianwali, which falls in the jurisdiction of Faisalabad Customs, has impounded a non-customs paid Toyota Vitz car bearing registration no QA- 399 (Islamabad), model 2000 white colour near Kundian More M.M  Alam Road district Mianwali.

The customs officials took the vehicle into custody under section 156 (I) of the Customs Act 1969. On the other hand, ASO authorities forwarded  contravention report to Customs Adjudication for further legal proceedings.

Deputy collector served notice to the accused party through Customs ASO Mianwali. Deputy Collector Asma Hameed also directed ASO Mianwali to depute any relevant official to attend the hearing on the schedule date along with relevant record.
