Customs Appellate Tribunal hears 15 cases on Thursday

LAHORE: Customs Appellate Tribunal bench-II comprising Judicial Member Omer Arshad Hakeem and Technical Member Khawaja Omer Mehdi heard 15 cases on Thursday and adjourned all of them until next date of hearing.

According to the details, the tribunal heard 15 cases including Rehman Quilts versus Customs Faisalabad, Rehmat Ullah versus directorate of Intelligence and Investigation Multan, Customs Multan versus Wool Worth Traders, Customs Lahore versus Shaukat Khanum,

Furthermore, Jan Muhammad versus directorate of Intelligence and Investigation Multan, Irfan Aziz versus Customs Multan, Wateen Telecom versus Post Clearance Audit (PCA) Lahore, Fas Tube versus Customs Lahore.

On Tuesday, the Customs Tribunal heard various cases including directorate of Intelligence and investigation Lahore versus Mian Ahsan, Osker Oil Service versus Jan Muhammad versus directorate of Intelligence and investigation Multan, Mian Ahsan versus Jan Muhammad versus directorate of Intelligence and investigation Lahore.

In case of Osker Oil Services the counsel of appellant argued before the court that Directorate of Intelligence and Investigation Multan Sadiqabad Unit seized the oil tanker of Osker Oil Services due to over quantity of oil.

Added more the appellant has paid the duties and taxes according to the quantity loaded in the tanker but customs authorities claimed over quantity. The adjudication authority also announced the decision against the appellant and appellant filed the case in the Customs Appellate Tribunal for Justice. After hearing the case adjourns for next date.
