Customs Export directs M/s Sardar Fertilizers to pay evaded tax, duty within 14 days

KARACHI: The Customs Export has directed M/s Sardar Fertilizers and Company to deposit evaded tax and duties within 14 days.

Sources told Customs Today that during scrutiny of the import data of the company it was revealed that M/s Sardar Fertilizers and Company availed undue benefits and concessions by importing different consignments of fertilizers during October 2015-16 through their clearing agent M/s Ayub Enterprises.

Sources said that company availed benefits by using SRO 566 illegally and caused a loss of Rs1.7 million to national kitty. After detecting the tax evasion, Customs Export authorities issued the company show cause notice and imposed a penalty of Rs96,000.

Now Customs Export warned the company to deposit the evaded tax amount within 14 days along with fine failing which stern action will be taken against the company.
