COLOMBO: The government’s tax income has increased by Rs.100 billion during the first half of this year, the Government Information Department website said.
It quoted Cabinet Co-spokesman Minister of Parliamentary Reforms and Mass Media Gayantha Karunathilake as saying this was a 20 percent increase in the government’s tax income.
The Inland Revenue Department, the Excise Department, and the Sri Lanka Customs posted the highest tax incomes during this period, it said.
