Mianwali ASO impounds Toyota Vehicle worth Rs 1.2m

FAISALABAD: The Model customs collectorate, Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) Mainwali has impounded non-customs paid Toyota Corolla vehicle bearing registration No A-5818 model 2003 automatic gear and transmission in white colour during a crackdown in Mainwali. The estimated value of the seized vehicle is Rs 1261,017 involving Rs 661,017 customs duty.

Sources told Customs Toady that Collector Dr.Zulifikar Ali choudhary received information regarding the smuggling attempt. Consequently, he informed Deputy Collector Muhammad Rizwan khan to establish a special to curb the smuggling. The team comprising Superintendent Choudhary Muhammad Sardar, Inspector Azhar Hussain Jafri, Muhammad Umar Bhatti, Riasat hussain, Sher Ahmad, Faiz Ahmed, and Sayed Rasool.

During the checking of the vehicles the ASO team intercepted Toyota Corolla near Chashma Bridge, District Mianwali and asked the driver namely Ghaznfar Ali khan son of Hameed Ullah khan residential Muryali District D.I khan to produce lawful proof of its import vehicle. But he remained failed to show any legal import documents regarding the vehicle.

Thus, the ASO team impounded the smuggled vehicle under section 2(S) SRO 566(1)/2005 section 16, 18 0f the customs act 1969 and submitted seizure report to adjudication department for further legally process.
