Quetta ASO seizes 200 smuggled cameras, 50 gallons of grease

KARACHI: The Anti-Smuggling Organization, Quetta has confiscated a huge quantity of cameras and non-duty paid 50 gallons of grease during two successful raids while six persons were arrested.

As per the details, Deputy Collector Jahanzaib Abbasi received information that smuggler were planning to smuggle foreign origin cameras from out of the city. Consequently, he informed the anti-smuggling team comprising Raheel Ali Khan, Inspector Qayoom Ali, Noshad Khan and others. The team formed check points at main entry and exit point of the city and started the checking of vehicles. During the checking of vehicles the team halted a suspicious van. During the searching of the van the ASO team recovered more than 200 cameras. The customs officials seized the cameras and arrested four persons who were involved in smuggling. Customs officials said that the value of seized cameras is more than Rs 3 million.

In another action, Quetta anti-smuggling squad has seized non-duty paid gallons of grease. Collector Quetta received information related to grease smuggled. He informed the ASO team and instructed them to curb the smuggling. The team raided at a warehouse located at Noshaki Road and during the searching found more than 50 gallons filled with foreign origin grease.  The ASO team seized all gallons and arrested two persons who were there at the time of action. ASO team told Customs Today that value of seized grease is more than Rs 2 million.
