Mobile accessories traders meet Valuation director Mubashar Baig

LAHORE: Valuation Director Dr Mubashar Baig has met traders dealing in mobile accessories as panic gripped the traders on the imposition of 500 percent additional valuation duty on the import of accessories.

Sources told Customs Today that traders’ leader Babar Mehmood urged the director to resolve the valuation duty issue on the mobile accessories in order to promote business activities in the city.

He said that that following the imposition of additional valuation duty it has become impossible for the traders to conduct business of mobile accessories.

On the other hand, the sources said that the valuation Director Mubashar Baig has assured the businessmen to do whatever he could do to resolve the issues as the customs authorities have always been there to encourage the genuine businessmen.

The sources said that the valuation director also encouraged the businessmen for the resolution other related issue and grievances of the traders.

It was informed that the meeting between the valuation director and the traders in a very congenial atmosphere.

Meanwhile, on the other hand the traders have also announced to hold protest demonstration from Monday if the issue of additional valuation duty is not resolved.
