PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Food Department has refuted news item about alleged irregularities in purchase of Wheat by the department and said that facts were distorted in the news item.
It said the food department purchased Wheat from federal department PASCO and local landlords as per laws and rules, adding that tax was not deducted from local landlords rather the equipments and other agricultural products were exempted from tax.
It said all the affairs were transparently performed which was evident of the fact that the government earned billion of rupees during the last three years.
He said corruption and commission mafia had been eliminated from the department and one district food controller and one assistant food controller were removed recently from the services on charges of corruption.
