Customs Export directs M/s Al Raza Chemicals to pay evaded tax, duties

KARACHI: The Customs Export has directed the management of M/s Al Raza Chemicals and Exports to deposit evaded amount of tax and duties at the earliest.

Sources told Customs Today that during scrutiny of the import data it was revealed that M/s Al Raza Chemicals and Exports imported eight consignments of chemicals through their clearing agent M/s Hari Tag Enterprises. The company availed undue benefits and concessions by using SRO 566 and wrong PCT heading.

Sources said that during audit it was detected that M/s Al Reza Chemicals evaded an amount of Rs 2.2 million as tax and duties. After detecting the tax evasion Customs Export authorities issued final notice to the management of M/s Al Raza Chemicals and Exports warning them to clear the outstanding tax and duties amount within seven days. The Customs Export authorities also imposed a penalty of Rs1,20,000 on the company. If the company will not deposit this amount within given period then stern legal action will be taken against it.
