Islamabad FTO to computerize official record

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Tax Ombudsman (FTO) is all set to build a digital data account and information available with the office of the FTO.

Sources privy to the Customs Today disclosed that FTO had assigned the task to an Islamabad based software house for building the digital data account.

According to details, the digitalization of data would consist of information pertaining to updates of cases, administrative measures, announcements, news archives, members’ profiles and other functions.

Sources also said that the project was assigned to the company couple of months ago and major work on the digitalization of data had been completed.

However, it is currently not in a shape where we could activate it immediately, but in coming months the all data of FTO secretariat would be available online in digital form.

It is pertinent to mention that FTO office currently also maintaining online information for visitors. But current website does not provide details on cases and other affairs making it an unsatisfactory account of information online.

FTO officials aspired that with the new modifications and digitalization of data completely, the online users would be benefited and an easy access to information would help FTO to improve its functions in order to bring greater relief to the people in general and to taxpayers in specific.
