ISLAMABAD: Federal Board of Revenue Chairman Nisar Muhammad Khan has reserved verdict by deciding the appeals of Auditor Muneer ul Haq and Inland Revenue Officer Abdul Qasim.
The chairman will announce the decision after having consultation with Administration Member Majid Qureshi and reviewing the performance reports of the accused officials. Both officials are facing charges of misconduct, misuse of powers, personal use of official machinery and violation of departmental rules and regulations.
The Administration member has completed its report in the case and found them guilty, besides recommending penalty for them.
Later, both officials filed separate appeals before the chairman to explain their stances on the allegations levelled against them. The chairman heard their statements and decided to announce the decision after checking of record. Sources said that major penalties might be imposed of both officials.
