Deputy Collector Asma to hear case of non-duty paid Toyota Hiace on Sept. 15

FAISALABAD: The Customs Adjudication Deputy Collector Asma Hameed has issued a show cause notice to owner of non-duty paid Toyota Hiace worth Rs8,00,000.

Sources told Customs Today, that the Faisalabad Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) intercepted a Toyota Hiace van bearing registration n. R-0457 near Khurrianwala Chowk Sheikhpura Road Faisalabad. The owner of the vehicle failed to show any legal documents regarding possession of the vehicle.

ASO Superintendent Saeed Akhtar Joiya along with his team impounded the vehicle and sent the case to Customs Adjudication for further legal action. That vehicle brought into country without payment of customs duty and taxes through an unauthorized route.

Therefore, Deputy Collector Asma Hameed issued notice to Waqas Karamat son of Karamat Ali resident of Nizampura Dewa Sing Shahkot on the violation of Section 10-A. 89(1) and 156(1) of the Customs Act, 1969.

The adjudication also directed the accused person to file his reply by September 15, 2016.

Asma Hameed also directed the customs officials to submit reply in the impounded vehicle’s case for further proceedings. She also directed ASO Deputy Collector Muhammad Rizwan to attend the hearing on the scheduled date along with relevant record.
