LAHORE: The Federal Investigation Agency has arrested three human traffickers during operations in different areas of the province.
Sources told Customs Today that the anti-human trafficking cell of the agency raided a locality in Gujrat and arrested an accused Khurram Ali. A case was registered against him in March under section 122 of Human Smuggling Act of 1979.
During another action, the FIA Gujranwala arrested a human smuggler Naseem Akhtar who was involved in sending people to Germany on fake documents.
In another action, the FIA authorities arrested a person from Green Town Lahore due to his involvement in sending innocent people abroad after extorting huge amount from them. The FIA has registered separate cases against the culprits under sections of human smuggling and fraud with citizens.
The FIA also recovered passports and currency of different countries from the possession of arrested persons. Number of complaints were registered against these accuses in this regard. FIA has shifted them to unknown place for further investigations and prosecution.
