FBR Member Legal Shaukat Ali holds meetings with Adjudication Collectorates

KARACHI: The Member Legal-Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Shaukat Ali Khan visited the Custom House and met with the teams of Collectorates of Customs Adjudication-I and II.

Ali also held meetings with the Collector of Customs Adjudication-I Surriya Butt and Collector of Customs Adjudication-II Javed Chaudhry during his two-day visit of the Custom House. According to sources, the additional collectors and deputy collectors of both the Collectorates were also present on the occasion.

During the meeting, the member legal reviewed the performance of both the Collectorates and expressed his satisfaction over the working of the staff.

The member asked the officials to speed up the adjudication process of the cases registered in the Collectorates of Customs Adjudication-I and Customs Adjudication-II.

On the occasion, the Collector of Customs Adjudication-I Surriya Ahmed Butt and Collector of Customs Adjudication-II Javed Chaudhry briefed the Member-Legal about the cases adjudicated by the authorities of Adjudication department.

The sources informed that the matter related to the increase in ambit of the Adjudication-II Collectorate was also come under discussion.

“The Member-Legal (FBR-Customs) Shaukat Ali was taken opinions of both the Collectors of Customs Adjudication-I and II about the increase in the ambit of the Collectorate of Customs Adjudication-II”, sources revealed.

Sources further informed that the Member Legal-FBR has compiled all recommendations and suggestions regarding increase and decrease in the jurisdictions of the Collectorates of Customs Adjudication-I and II.
