Customs Preventive collects Rs 4,177m revenue from all taxes

LAHORE: Customs Preventive has collected Rs 4,177 million revenue from all taxes, including customs duty, sales tax, withholding tax and federal excise duty during August 2016-17.

The collectorate collected Rs 1,216 million customs duty during the month under review against Rs 1,010 million collected during the same period of last financial year.

The collectorate collected Rs 1,826 million on account of sales tax during August 2016-17 against Rs1,936 collected during the same period last financial year.

Data showed that the collectorate collected Rs 1,087 million on account of withholding tax (WHT) during August against the same period financial year 2015-16.

Similarly the collectorate collected Rs 47 million federal excise duty (FED) during the month of August 2016-17 against Rs 26 million collected during August 2015-16.

Overall the collectorate collected Rs 4,177 million during August 2016-17 against Rs 4108 million collection of revenue on account of all taxes.

The sources told Customs Today that Collector of Customs Preventive Zulfiqar Younas has strictly directed all the additional and deputy collectors at all stations to put maximum efforts to make the achievement of financial years target a success.

It was said that the collector has been monitoring the revenue by visiting and holding offices at all the stations including Wagha, Airport, Railways Station T-10 and other areas.
