Customs impounds 13 non-duty paid vehicles

ISLAMABAD: Directorate Customs Intelligence and Collectorate have seized 13 non-duty paid vehicles during during a successful action.

Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) directed the customs authorities to investigate the matter of non-duty paid vehicles. The commissioner of Malakand Agency had already the FBR about a huge consignment of smuggled vehicles. Commissioner also informed that these vehicles used in terrorism because customs has no officials records of non-duty paid vehicle. During investigation it raveled these vehicles were brought at Lahore Dry Port in the form of parts and Lahore Customs had cleared vehicles. The said vehicles were smuggled to Sawat through a container in the form of parts but when officials match chassis number they were same.  Therefore Customs officials impounded the vehicles and arrested the driver who was involved in smuggling. FBR started investigation of this matter and will seeks report form Lahore Dry Port officials to clear this consignment.
