Customs Exports issue tax notices to 22 companies involved in tax evasion

KARACHI: The Customs Export has issued tax notices to 22 companies found involved in tax evasion. The Customs Exports Department directed these companies to clear outstanding tax amounts within 22 days.

Sources told Customs Today that among these companies nine companies are located in Karachi while 22 companies are located in rural Sindh. Sources said that six companies have already cleared their outstanding dues but remaining companies informed the authorities that they would clear their payment within few days.

Sources said that Customs Exports branch issued tax notice to the management of M/s Zahid Garments. During scrutiny of import data it was revealed that the company availed undue benefits and concessions by importing various consignments of “collar bukram” and caused a loss of Rs5.23.000 to national kitty.

Now Customs Export authorities issued them final notice asking them to clear the outstanding at the earliest otherwise stern action will be taken against the company.
