Collector Preventive Zulfiqar Younas leaves for US to attend world customs moot

LAHORE: Collector of Customs Preventive Dr Zulfiqar Younas has left for US to attend a 10-day seminar organized by the World Customs Organization (WCO), sources told Customs Today the other day.

It was informed that the conference will be held in New York while the collector will return to Pakistan on October 4, 2016.

It was reported that the collector will be attending various programs in which various issue including valuation, smuggling, import, export, revenue collection, management and other relevant topic will come under discussion at the conference.

The sources said that the conference will enable the collector to discharge his obligation in more professional manners while it will also come handy in implementation of modern rules and techniques at the customs establishment in Pakistan.

The sources reported that the collector was selected for attending the conference as he has extensive experience in dealing with the foreign customs affairs.

It was also said that earlier Federal Board of Revenue chairman was to go to attend the conference, however, he was not able to attend the conference due to his busy scheduled in the country.
