Customs court hears 21 cases on Thursday

LAHORE: The Special Federal Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling on Thursday heard 21 cases, including pre-arrest bail pleas filed by suspects.

Most of the cases were adjourned without any proceedings as the parties and lawyers concerned did not appear in the court.

Hearing of pre-arrest bail pleas filed by accused Zahid Hussain and Zeeshan Mushtaq were adjourned for new dates in next week. A case against Tahir Bharwana was also scheduled for hearing in which court recorded statements of the parties. Indictment of Muhammad Waris was also scheduled for the day but the same was adjourned for next week.

Final arguments and statements of the concerned parties in a case of smuggling was rescheduled for next week.
