FST postpones hearing of couple of cases filed by FBR employees

ISLAMABAD: A division bench of the Federal Service Tribunal (FST) on Thursday heard couple of promotion cases and adjourned with directions to submit supporting documents.

The FST divisional bench, comprising tribunal member Ishtiaq Ahmed and Dr Nazir Saeed, heard the cases and asked the counsels from the Federal Board of Revenue and appellants, who were also representing FBR employees, to ensure provision of legal decisions on similar matters for assisting the bench to reach a decision in the cases.

The bench adjourned hearing for October 13. The bench was hearing promotion cases filed by M Asfahani  and Alam Talpur. The appellants ha prayed the tribunal to direct the board on granting them due promotion at the department. They had sought promotion to the BPS-16.

The bench also adjourned hearing of two other cases carrying complaints related to pending implementation. M Farooq and Nasir Hussain had filed these cases. They had filed complaints regarding implementation of FST’s earlier announced regarding provision of allowances.

The had prayed tribunal to ensure raise in their salaries and provision of allowances which had been allocated by the board itself.
