IHC adjourns hearing of cases filed against field offices of FBR

ISLAMABAD: A single bench of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) heard and adjourned cases carrying complaints against the field offices of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) on Thursday.

IHC judge, Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb, heard the cases filed by M/s Capital Strategies Group (Private) Limited, M/s Wateen Telecom Limited, M/s Halmore Power Generation Company Limited and Administrator Islamabad Club. Hearing of the said cases was dated in the office for the reason of further arguments by the counsels.

According to details, M/s Capital Strategies Group Private Limited and M/s Wateen Telecom Limited through its three references had submitted complaints against Large Taxpayers Unit officials including the commissioner Inland Revenue and his assistant.

M/s Halmore Power Generation Company Limited had challenged show cause notice issued by the Regional Tax Office and had named the commissioner and others in its case.

Administrator Islamabad Club had filed a case in which Federal Board of Revenue was made main respondent. Most appellants had challenged different tax recovery claims by the FBR field offices.
