LAHORE: All Pakistan Wapda Hydro Electric Central Workers Union (CBA) has declared that the government (Wapda/Pepco) has granted different benefits to the Wapda/electricity workers.
The pay scales of the electricity/Wapda workers numbering more than 1,30,000 have been up-graded. Shift allowance of the security staff has been raised. Special assistance to the widows of the workers who die while performing their duties on duty, and other benefits have also been granted.
The declaration was made by Khurshid Ahmad, general secretary of All Pakistan Wapda Hydel Electric Workers Union (CBA), in a large meeting of Wapda workers and their representatives at Bukhtiar Labour Hall.
The meeting was also addressed by other central representatives of the Union, who thanked the management for acceptance of just demands of the workers. They also declared that they would even sacrifice their lives for the defence of the motherland. The workers were urged to continue to strive hard to raise their efficiency.
for provision of better services to the consumers as well as recovery of electricity dues and ensure observance of safety regulations while performing their duties.
