ASO seizes contraband items from Daewoo bus service

ISLAMABAD: Anti-smuggling Organization (ASO) has seized huge quantity of smuggled items from Daewoo express bus service, Pakistan while two men were arrested.

Deputy Collector Shahid Jan said that the ASO team intercepted a bus No LXC 6104 with the help of Motorway police and seized contraband items.

The ASO seized LED TV in quantity of 127, foreign origin Cigarettes 570000 numbers, Lux soap 2304 pieces, CDR 41400 Pieces, cigarettes lighter 10000 pieces, Indian made Gutca 420kg and Car tires 85 numbers.

Deputy Collector adding that ASO has arrested two passengers who was traveling in Daewoo bus services, the arrested passengers does not have any documents that can show that duties and taxes of seized items have paid.

Deputy Collector said that with the guidance of Collector Dr Arslan and Chief Collector Sarwat Tahira the Preventive department is working hard to curb the smuggling.

He said that FIR has filed against the evaders and further investigation is under process for further action.
