PARIS: The French current account gap narrowed in August on falling visible trade deficit, the Bank of France. The current account deficit decreased to EUR 2.1 billion from EUR 2.9 billion in July.
The deficit on goods trade fell to EUR 2.3 billion from EUR 3.1 billion. Meanwhile, the services trade showed a shortfall of EUR 0.1 billion after the account balanced in July.
Revenue remained unchanged at EUR 3.7 billion. Likewise, the deficit on secondary income also held steady at EUR 3.5 billion.
In August, the capital account was balanced as seen in July.
