KARACHI: The Gwadar Model Customs Collectorate has seized 18,000 litre Iranian oil during a successful raid in the area of Jewani.
Collector Saeed Akram received information that some elements were planning to smuggle non-duty paid oil from out of the city. On this, the collector informed the Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) and instructed them to curb the smuggling. The ASO team formed check posts at main entry and exit point of the city and started the checking vehicles. During the checking of vehicles the team intercepted a oil tanker. The team asked the driver to produce legal documents of the 18,000 litre Iranian diesel but he was failed to produce any customs clearance documents. The customs officials seized Iranian diesel worth Rs1.1 million.
