Customs Investigation & Prosecution lodges 15 FIRs by September 2016

LAHORE: Customs Investigation and Prosecution (I&P) Department has registered 15 FIRs involving Rs 89 million against the elements involved in smuggling of contraband goods and drugs till September 2016.

The I&P booked Saifullah and others in smuggling of miscellaneous items worth Rs 10.41 million on February 17  while Noor Ali and other were also booked in smuggling of miscellaneous Rs 9 million items on the same day.

The department lodged FIR against Faisal Ashfaq in smuggling of Rs 6 million mobile phones on February 24 while Tahir Bharwana was booked in Rs 5.2 million foreign currency smuggling case.

On the other hand, two FIRs were lodged against Waris Khan and Muhammad Zeshan for smuggling of heroine during the month of March 2016.

One Khuram Shahzad was booked in BOPP film case during the month of April while Saeed Talib, Muhammad Rasheed, Adil Subhani, Ms Saba, Naveed Ahmad, Nuzhat Bukhari, Allah Ditta and Farhan Rahat were booked in currency, heroine, gold jewelry tyres and other cases during April, June, July, August and September 2016.
