“Weboc is one of the most modern and efficient system of clearance of goods which is available to most the countries around the world,” Lahore Customs’ Directorate General of Intelligence and Investigation official Zainab Mehmood said.

According to press statement, Zainab was addressing the participants of one-day workshop jointly organised by Directorate General of Training and Research FBR and Pakistan Furniture Council (PFR).She said the system seeks to create a paperless environment and to do away with the role of middleman agents, adding it is meant to enhance transparency and reduce the level of corruption.

Zainab said that it was an interactive web-based goods clearance system for both import and export of goods to and from Pakistan. The purpose of training of the senior executives, directors and general managers was to develop the understanding among the furniture industry to expedite their clearance of goods either for export and import, she added.

The system is also aimed at helping the business community to do the business with more flexibility and at a faster pace which fully ensures efficient supply chain of solutions for them.
