ISLAMABAD: The tax collection through audit has fallen by 24 percent during the last fiscal year to Rs87.88 billion from previous collection of Rs115.5 billion.
According to annual report released by Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), the collection of arrears decreased by 35 percent to Rs15.25 billion in 2015-016 as compared with Rs23.61 billion in preceding fiscal year. Similarly, the collection under current demand fell by 21 percent to Rs72.63 billion from Rs91.88 billion.
