Tax evasion: Customs Exports issues notice to M/s Nadeem Garments

KARACHI: The Customs Exports has issued a show cause notice to the management of M/s Nadeem Garments and Exports to clear evaded tax amount of Rs 678,000.

Sources told Customs Today that during scrutiny of import data it was revealed that the company availed undue benefits and concessions by using SRO 566. The company imported various consignments of raw material by displaying wrong PCT heading. The company imported these consignments during the month of March and availed undue concessions.

After detecting the tax evasion Customs Exports authorities issued final notice to the management of M/s Nadeem Garments directing them to clear outstanding tax amount within two weeks otherwise stern legal action will be taken against the company.

On the other hand Customs Export authorities also issued notice to the management of M/s Zamzama Chemicals. The company unveiled undue benefits by using wrong PCT heading and imported different consignments of chemicals. The Customs Export authorities directed the management of M/s Zamzama Chemicals to personally appear before the competent authority to explain their point of view.
