Zero-rating facility on electricity supply granted to four industrial units

KARACHI: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has allowed zero-rating facility on supply of electricity to four industrial units.

According to the notifications issued by Secretary (IR-ST &FE) Raza Ashfaq Sheikh, the FBR, in exercise of powers conferred by clause (d) of section 4 of the Sales Tax Act, 1990, made further amendments in its Sales Tax General Order No 09 of 2007 dated 13th September 2007.

Under the amendments, in the Table, serial number 56, 2754, 1350 and 1349 in column (1) and entries relating thereto in columns (2), (3) and (4) will be added. The concession of zero-rated sales tax on supply of electricity has been granted to Sapphire Textile Mills Limited, Sarwah Textile Mills, Salim Winding Works and Al-Arshad Corporation.
