ISLAMABAD: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has foiled five bids to smuggle drugs at Benazir Bhutto International Airport (BBIA) Islamabad
According to an official statement, the ANF arrested a passenger on suspicion of carrying ingested heroin-filled capsules. The accused was intended to fly to Rome by Etihad Airways. Later, heroin-filled capsules weighing 300 grams were recovered from his intestines.
Another case of ingested heroin capsules was intercepted at the same airport. ANF officials recovered over 100 heroin filled capsules from the accused who was travelling to Saudi Arabia via Masqat by Oman Air.
In yet another incident, ANF arrested a passenger at BBIA and recovered 49 heroin-filled capsules concealed in his shoes. The accused intended to fly to Rome via Doha by Qatar Airways.
At least two-kilogramme amphetamine were found concealed inside the trolley bag of a passenger intending to fly to Italy via Saudi Arabia by PIA. Ice, a high-end drug, was recovered from a Jeddah bound passenger.
The ANF officials arrested a passenger for trying to smuggle 1.3kg ice to Saudi Arabia via Etihad Airlines.
