Customs Central Region generates Rs 15.4 billion sales tax in Q1

LAHORE: The Customs Central Region has collected Rs 15.4 billion on the account of sales tax during the first quarter of the current financial year.

The sales tax was collected by all the four collectorates of Central Region, including Model Customs Collectorate Preventive, Customs Appraisement, Multan Customs and Faisalabad Customs.

As per details, the Customs Appraisement collected Rs 7,405 million, while the Customs Preventive collected Rs 2,772 million during the said period.

Similarly, the Multan Customs generated Rs 3,670 million under the head of sales tax, while the collection of Faisalabad Customs stood at Rs 1586 million. The sales tax has been collected on import and export-oriented by all the four collectorates,

Officials said that Chief Collector Samaira Nazir in order to meet financial year targets has urged all the collectorates to speed up collection measures.
