Multan ASO impounds eight non-customs paid vehicles worth Rs 12.5m in September

MULTAN: Customs Collectorate Multan Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) has seized eight non-customs paid vehicles during September.

Sources told Customs Today that that market value of the impounded vehicles is Rs 12.5 million. The Anti-Smuggling Organization has launched rigorous anti-smuggling activities in the region on the directives of Collector Sarfraz Ahmad Warriach.  The organization has carried out crackdown against smuggled vehicles in their jurisdiction in September. The Multan Customs has deputed their staff at various entry and exit points of the territory to impound the non-duty paid vehicles.

Anti-Smuggling Organization have impounded eight vehicles of different models and designs including Toyota Vitz, Suzuki Jimmy, Toyota Premio, Toyota Corolla Indus ,Mitsubishi Pajero ,Suzuki Pick Up.

These eight impounded vehicles include five non-tampered and three tampered vehicle during the anti-smuggling activities of the Multan Customs staff in various locations of the jurisdiction. Anti-Smuggling Organization have seized almost five non-customs paid vehicles from the Taunsa and Sakhi Sarwar region.

Anti- Smuggling Organization has detained these vehicles for verification after they found suspected in the initial examination to Customs staff during anti-smuggling activities. The highest value of the seized vehicles during anti-smuggling operation of the Multan Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization was Toyota Premio of Model 2006.

Customs have seized the non-tampered Toyota Premio of worth Rs.2.5 million during their action in the region of Dera Ghazi Khan. The Customs Collectorate Multan has made the seizure reports of all the seized vehicles during the month of September.

Majority of the seized vehicles in the month of September have been forwarded to Customs Adjudication for the legal proceedings of their seizure case. Customs Adjudication Multan have also issued show cause notices to the owner of the smuggled vehicles for the proceedings of the seizure case.
