Sialkot ASO seizes smuggled goods, vehicles worth Rs36.80m from 18th Sept. to 18th Oct.

SIALKOT: The Customs Collectorate is rigorously pursuing the anti-smuggling campaign and during the period from 18th September to 18th October 2016 seized huge quantity of smuggled, non-duty paid goods worth Rs 36.80 million

Sources told Customs Today that Anti Smuggling Organization led by Assistant Collector Fahad Bashir Choudhary and his team members as Superintendent Sardar Manzoor and Inspectors Aftab Ahmed and Aamir seized smuggled/ non-duty paid vehicles valuing Rs.36 .80 million.

Sources said that Customs Collectorate Sialkot also made cases involving smuggled goods worth Rs28.51 million. Cases involving goods worth Rs555.32 million have been made during the period of 18 September to 18 October 2015 and 18 September to 18 October 2016 whereas cases involving goods worth Rs496.28 million were made during the corresponding  period of last year.

It is learnt that ASO staff is showing outstanding performance in curbing smuggling activities in the region.  Sources said that the ASO impounded three non-duty paid vehicles worth Rs.2.5 million and 1850 mobile phones and tab worth Rs.32 million and other miscellaneous items worth Rs.2.75 million.
