KARACHI: DP World, Karachi in collaboration with Latif Kapadia Memorial Welfare Trust (LKMWT) has successfully hosted a “Free Eye Screening Camp” for “truck drivers” at Port Qasim.
This camp was set up to create awareness among truckers about eye diseases and ensure road safety. Many announcements were made to inform the ‘truck drivers’ about the camp.
The duration of the camp was from 10am to 5pm in which 241 patients were checked who were suffering from conjunctivitis, myopia and presbyopia. At least 37 “field workers” and 204 “truck drivers” were provided awareness for prevention and medicine to care. At least 96 were suggested focal glasses, 14 reading optical and four were referred to hospitals for free surgery.
This eye camp is rightly reflecting the vision of DP World- protecting environment, investing on people, ensuring highest standards and building a vibrant, secure and resilient society.
