FBR Chairman Nisar reserves verdict in ADC Nasreen Nawaz case

ISLAMABAD: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Chairman Nisar Mohammad Khan reserved his verdict after personally hearing the case of Additional Director, Directorate of Training Customs Research Lahore Nasreen Nawaz . The additional director is performing her duties in BS-18 and belonges to Pakistan Customs Services group.

Sources said that the additional director is facing the charges of misconduct and violation of official rules and regulations while performing her job. The FBR has already suspended her performance allowance from July 21, 2016 but later Secretary Management Customs-II Ghulam Ali Malik restored her performance allowance through a notification.

Sources said that she already explained her position before Member Administration Majid Qureshi but she failed to prove her innocence in the case. Now her case was referred to FBR chairman who personally hear her case and reserved his verdict. Sources said that chairman FBR will announce his final decision after consulting with Member Administration Federal Board of Revenue Majid Qureshi.  She may be directed to deposit some amount as penalty to the board, the sources said.

The sources added that the FBR was taking strict administrative measures for accountability of officials, who are involved in misusing of powers and violation of rules and regulations, adding that all decisions were made on merit in the cases.
