Chief commissioners should take all possibile steps to achieve revenue target: Member IR Dr Irshad

ISLAMABAD: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Member Inland Revenue Operations Dr Mohammad Irshad has directed all the chief commissioners to use all available resources for achievement of revenue collection target set for financial year 2016-17.

He expressed these views during a meeting with chief commissioners. The meeting meeting was held at Chief Commissioner’s Office Rawalpindi. He also directed chief commissioners to hold strict monitoring of withholding tax collections. He also directed to implement new module of sales tax registration. He directed chief commissioners to use all options to recover outstanding tax amounts from tax evaders.

Prominent among those who attended the meeting includes Chief Commissioner Tanveer Malik, additional commissioners, deputy commissioners, assistant commissioners and other related officials.

The participants of the meeting take in-depth view of the strategies adopted for collection of revenue to meet the target set for FY 2016-17. Dr. Irshad directed all chief commissioners to adopt comprehensive measures to achieve revenue collection target of current fiscal year.

He urged all the officials of staff to work devotedly and honestly during second quarter of current fiscal year he said that no negligence will bear during official assignments.

He also directed the participants of the meeting to try to pursue all recovery cases which are pending on courts on priority basis.
