Customs recovers bottles of alcohol from passenger at Faisalabad airport

FAISALABAD: The Customs Air Freight Unit (AFU) team recovered two bottles of foreign origin liquor worth Rs 10,500 from a passenger during an action at Faisalabad airport.

Following information, Deputy Collector Muhammad Rizwan Khan formed a special team under the supervision of AFU Superintendent Mukhtar Hussain, comprising Inspector Muhammad Afzal Awan, Sepoys Abdul Nasir, Amjad Iqbal Cheeman and Sajid Baloch.

The team intercepted a passenger namely as Muhmmad Faheem having Passport No AC8152753, who arrived at the airport from Dubai through a Flight No FEZ-343 and checked his luggage.

The customs team asked the passenger to open the bag in the presence of two witnesses which led to the recovery of two bottles of foreign origin liquor of Chivas Regal brand.

The authorities seized the liquor bottles under the contravention Section 2(S), read with SRO 566(1)/2005, Section 15 and 16 of the Customs Act, 1969 and submitted a report to the Customs Adjudication.
