Peshawar ASO Peshawar impound 3 non-duty paid vehicles worth Rs 5.2m

ISLAMABAD: The Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) Peshawar impounded three non-duty paid vehicles during October worth 5.2 million.

Customs official told Customs Today that with strict orders of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) regarding non-customs paid vehicles the ASO Peshawar had taken effective measures to curb smuggling and discourage the trends of non-duty paid vehicles.

As per the details, during the month of October ASO impounded one Toyota Corolla model 2006, on information shared by collector office Peshawar, the value of impounded vehicle was Rs2 million. Toyota Corolla car model 2004 was seized from Peshawar city on information of ASO sources, the value of this vehicle was Rs1.7 million.

The ASO also impounded Suzuki Pickup Model 1998 from GT Road Peshawar, the said vehicle impounded during routine checking, the evader of car had not any proof of possession of the car, the total value of impounded car worth Rs1.5 million

Sources further said that  ASO impounded 17 non-duty paid vehicles during first quarter (July-September) of financial year 2016-17 and 32 offending vehicles (carrier goods vehicles), the value of impounded vehicles were  amounting Rs22.8 millions.
