LAHORE: The Special Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling has adjourned the hearing of a case filed against a air-hostess of the Pakistan International Airlines, who is allegedly involved in smuggling of gold to New York.
The air-hostess, Nuzhat Bukhari, was arrested by the Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) and then she was handed over to the customs authorities for prosecution. The customs prosecution team presented her before the court for remand where she accepted her crime. After that the court sent her to jail for judicial trial.
Earlier, the ANF claimed to have arrested a senior Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) airhostess from Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport in connection with an attempt to smuggle two kilograms of gold to New York. The suspect reportedly confessed that she was trying to smuggle gold from Lahore to New York via PIA flight PK-721.
