September witnesses rebound in exports

ATHENS: Greek exports posted a 16.6 percent annual increase in September, according to Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT) data. Excluding fuel products, the yearly rise comes to 12 percent.

Of course any comparison of September 2016 with the same month of 2015 must take into account that last year the market had witnessed the imposition of capital controls in late June 2015. This also explains why, after the first six months of 2016 showed a major yearly decline in exports, July and August were the first months this year to show a recovery on an annual basis.
