Quetta Customs seizes Iranian diesel, mobile phones and narcotics worth Rs 6m

KARACHI: Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigations (I&I) team seized a huge quantity of smuggled Iranian diesel, mobile phones and fine quality hashish in different operations. The market value of the seized goods is Rs 6 million.

Sources told Customs Today that newly posted Director General of Customs Intelligence and Investigations (I&I) Shaukat Ali directed relevant authorities to take every possible measure to curb smuggling in the region. Sources said that Director Customs Intelligence Irfanur Rehman received information about some smuggling attempts.

The customs team established checking points on main entry and exit points of Quetta. During checking the customs team recovered 4,00,000 liters of smuggled Iranian diesel from 12 oil tanker, while during checking customs team intercepted a car which was coming from Afghanistan and recovered huge quantity of non duty paid mobile phones of assorted brands. The market value of seized mobile is Rs3.5 million.

Customs team also recovered huge quantity of fine quality hashish from a vehicle. Customs team registered separate cases of smuggling against accused persons and started investigations.
