Customs Appraisement collects Rs 19145 m in four months of FY2016-17

LAHORE: Collectorate of Customs Appraisement collected Rs 19145 million on account of financial years revenue target during the first four months of financial year 2016-17.

The Collectorate collected Rs 6859 million on account of customs duty during the four months 2016 against Rs 6229 million collected during the same period of last financial year.

On the other hand the Collectorate collected Rs 9940 million sales tax during the period under review against Rs 10485 million collected during the first four months of financial year 2015-16.

Similarly, the collectorate collected Rs 2311 million withholding tax during the period under review against Rs 2156 million collected during the same period last financial year.

The collectorate collected Rs 34 million during the month of August 2016 against Rs 76 million of federal excise duty (FED) during the same period of last financial year.

Overall the collectorate collected Rs 19145 million during the period under review against Rs18947 million during the same period last financial year showing a growth of one percent.

Sources said that the Collector of Customs Appraisement started holding meetings with the officials working at all the dry ports under the limits of Collectorate of Customs Appraisement urging them to work hard to collect as much revenue as they can do to meet targets.
